To live modestly in Society during the Regency
Period a household would need the equivalent of at least $120,000 a
year. The monthly household expenses for the husband would be in the range
of about $800 and the wife at $200.
For you know that you were
redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your fathers, not with
perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ,
like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb. I Peter 1:18-19
